HistoryShots makes and sells some astonishing infographics. Above is their History of the Confederate Army, compressing multiple dimensions of information into a single, handy field. These folks seem to have a grasp of both data and aesthetics that -- while not necessarily unique -- does appear to draw from the strengths of their forebears. Here I'm thinking of Tufte and Minard, both of whom are worth checking out if you enjoy well-designed graphs, parallel information flows, delicate linework, and/or minimalism in general.
While we're on it: the Royskopp video for "Remind Me." The song's alright enough, but the crazy infographics steal the show.
